Language requirements for Erasmus students

There is no specific language test required neither in German, English nor in any other language of instruction. However, students' language competence should be at level B2/C1 in the respective language(s).
English is the language of instruction at the Department of English, as well as at the Centre for African Studies.
At the departments of French, Italian and Spanish, the languages of instruction are French, Italian or Spanish respectively.
At all other departments, the language of instruction is German.
Students may choose courses from all the departments of the Faculty of the Humanities (Philosophisch-historische Fakultät), if their language competence allows it.
